Earlier this month, Pure Gloucester held an event for their customers focusing on GDPR. This included an overall “do’s and don’ts” talk by Tayntons Solicitors; a taster into how to get compliant via eLearning from Engage in Learning; and a cyber-security run-down with System 15.
“The GDPR requires personal data to be processed in a manner that ensures its security. This includes protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. It requires that appropriate technical or organisational measures are used.”
Nick Rowntree (System 15 Director) discussed the importance of running an audit on your data kept across all devices; cyber security methods and considerations; and about the security policy. This also developed into breach and incident reporting and the Cyber Essential Scheme.
The GDPR deadline is now fast approaching and so businesses working in or with the UK and EU must be taking measures to make sure they are compliant.
Nick was very happy to answer any questions that occurred and has offered further assistance should anyone require it. To contact System 15, go to www.system15.co.uk or call them on 01452 643515.
Alongside Nick, the other key speakers also received excellent reviews from those that attended Pure Gloucester’s GDPR event. Overall, customers left feeling much more clarity with how to manage their businesses in time for GDPR and more events have been requested at the centre.
